The purpose of the Gaden Shartse Phukhang tour
is to share with all people the Tibetan culture, as well as the practices and paths to inner peace and compassion.
Accomplishments of previous tours have provided funds for all aspects of the Monastery: maintenance, equipment,
medical supplies, building materials and many other necessities.

Additional funds raised by past tours
have supported the construction of a new debate hall
and have provided the day to day expenses
of supporting the growing monastery.
This success of these tours has been due to the help
and generosity of those who support the tours
by generously donating.
The Phukhang Monastery is a registered 501c3 organization.
The monks feel deeply indebted
to their friends in the West who have given
their time, effort, resources
and homes to make the tours possible.

The funds raised during the 2015 tour will be directed to
Gaden Shartse Phukhang which is solely responsible
for meeting the educational needs of the monastery,
and particularly, building maintenance and repair.
The monastic facility is located within Camp #1 of the
Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod, Karnataka, India.
The monastery also has a health clinic
which is open to serve anyone in the region -
monks, nuns, and lay people - both Tibetan and Indian.

Additionally many of the older monks suffer from illness
and receive treatment through the medical facility at Phukhang.
These monks are an integral part of the Tibetan community.
